Imphal, May 07 2026: Lalit Kala Sangam held a condolence meeting on Wednesday for singer Yensembam Bilashini Devi, who died on May 5.The meeting was held at the Sangam's head office at Loklaobung.

A life member of the Sangam, Bilashini Devi was a noted exponent of Manipuri Matam Eshei.

She performed on stage and in films for over five decades and trained young artistes in classical and folk traditions.

In a statement, Lalit Kala Sangam said her death was an "irreplaceable loss to the cultural fraternity of Manipur".

"Her songs kept the region's artistic traditions alive.

Her legacy will continue through her music and the artists she inspired", the statement said.

The Sangam extended condolences to her family, friends and the artistic community.
