Breastfeeding awareness programme held at Thoubal

Thoubal, August 06 2026: As part of the observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, celebrated worldwide from August 1 to 7, the Lions Club of Thoubal, in collaboration with Ruda BEd College, organised a breastfeeding awareness programme at the college campus in Thoubal Wangmataba on Thursday.

The programme was held under the theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works".

Senior Paediatrician of Manipur Health Services Dr Waikhom Joseph and retired Chief Medical Officer Dr Kshetrimayum Manglem attended the programme as resource persons and highlighted the importance of breastfeeding in ensuring the healthy growth and development of infants while promoting the well-being of mothers.

The awareness programme was attended by Lions Club of Thoubal president Thongam Komol Meitei, secretary L Marjit, other office bearers of the club, Ruda BEd College principal Dr Oinam Ibetombi, vice-principal Dr K Bheigyachandra, faculty members and students.
