'Film Conservation' workshop begins

Imphal, April 06 2026: A two-day workshop on the theme, "Scratches and Glitches" began today at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Imphal for select students from the State.

The workshop, held under the flagship of MSFDS, features master classes and practical training on conserving, retrieving, and repairing old film and documents.

The sessions are guided by Dr Johnson Rajkumar, an award-winning film conservator, and supported by the society's staff.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, MSFDS Secretary Sunzu Bachaspatimayum highlighted how technical knowledge of film conservation contributes to cultural preservation.

The workshop is set to benefit more than 15 aspirants from the State.
