VDF raising day celebrated at Bishnupur, Thoubal

Bishnupur/Thoubal, March 06 2025: Bishnupur District VDF Welfare Association celebrated the 16th Raising Day of Village Defence Force (VDF) at Lainingthou Mayangamba community hall near the Bishnupur SP's office on Thursday.

The programme, which began with offering of floral tributes to photos of deceased VDF personnel, was attended by Bishnupur additional SPs (Ops) Ama-rjit Lamabam as chief guest and (L&O) Y Premjit Singh as president, while DSPs (CDO-I) P Sanjoy Singh, (CDO-II) D Robinson and SDPO K Khogen Singh, Moirang SDPO K Santosh Singh and Bishnupur DSP (LPF) Md Riyajuddin were guests of honour.

District's top police officials and OCs of various police stations also attended the function as special guests.

In connection with the celebration, 65 VDF personnel posted in the district were presented with the SP Commendation Certificate in appreciation of their service.

Similarly, the 16th Raising Day was celebrated by Kakching District VDF Welfare Association at Kakching SP conference hall on Thursday.

As part of the event, five VDF personnel of the district, who suffered injuries in the ongoing conflict were provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each by the Association.

The assistance was handed over by Kakching SP Priyadarshini Laishram to Jugai Malik, Angom Suresh, Khundongbam Ratan, Hijam Romio and Khaidem Priyokumar.
