Imphal, October 05 2025:
In a heartening display of camaraderie and commitment, the Assam Rifles organised a dedicated Ex-Servicemen Outreach Drive at the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association Office, Sanjeevani in Imphal East district.
As per a release issued by HQ IGAR (South), the initiative drew an encouraging turnout of approximately 169 veterans, accompanied by then-families and members of the local community, reaffirming the enduring ties between the force and its retired personnel.
The event was steered by a team of 27 officials and troops from the Assam Rifles, who facilitated a series of welfare-oriented activities tailored to the needs of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris.
A key highlight of the drive was the registration campaign for the Sampark Setu application, a digital platform designed to streamline grievance redressal, enable real-time tracking of complaints, and provide timely updates on pension matters, welfare schemes, and veterancentric events.
The onboarding process marked a significant step towards digital empowerment and seamless communication between veterans and relevant authorities.
Complementing the techforward initiative, a medical camp was also set up to cater to the health needs of the attendees.
Free vitals check-ups, consultations, and essential medicines were provided, ensuring that the well-being of veterans and their families remained a central focus of the outreach.
The camp was particularly beneficial for Veer Naris, who received personalised attention and support.
Throughout the day, Assam Rifles personnel engaged directly with the veterans, offering assistance on pension discrepancies, documentation issues, healthcare access, and educational benefits for dependents.
The interactions not only helped resolve immediate concerns but also reinforced the organisation's unwavering dedication to the welfare and dignity of its retired fraternity.
