National Deworming Day 2024 launched

Thoubal, October 04 2024: The District Health Society Thoubal organised the launching ceremony of National Deworming Day (2nd Round) at the Conference Hall of National Health Mission located at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Complex, Thoubal Wangmataba today.

The event was graced by A Subhash IAS, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal and Chairman, District Health Society Thoubal; CMO Thoubal Dr Y Nokul; Dr A Sylvia, State Nodal Officer, Child Health Division; Arambam Anilkumar MES, ZEO Zone-III Thoubal; Dr W Ruhinikumar, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Thoubal and N Parango, District Programme Officer as the presidium members.

Speaking as the chief guest, DC Ahanthem Subhash sought the cooperation and support of the Thoubal public to make the deworming campaign a success.

Stressing on the need to keep children healthy and hygienic, he said that they should inculcate the habit of hand-washing before meals and after using the toilet.

Additionally, he urged the concerned officials to ensure that the deworming medicines reach the children who actually need them.

Further, he advocated for conducting awareness campaigns to educate the public with the participation of concerned stakeholders before such campaigns are launched.

Today's launching programme was attended by ASHA and Anganwadi workers.

Deworming medicines were distributed to children between 1 to 19 years of age and health centres of the district.
