Karunya University holds 33rd Convocation

Karunya University celebrated its 33rd Convocation Ceremony with pride and grandeur on Saturday at the Dr DGS Dhinakaran Auditorium.
The ceremony commenced with the Karunya Invocation Song, followed by a welcome address and presentation of the Annual Report by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Elijah Blessing.
He highlighted the university's achievements in academics, research, innovation, industry collaborations, and student accomplishments over the past year.
Guest of honour R Velusamy, President-Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Managing Director, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd, delivered the convocation address.
Congratulating the graduates, he urged them to embrace challenges with confidence and become leaders who create positive societal impact.
He stressed the need for lifelong learning and called on students to leverage innovation and technology to address real-world issues.
Noting India's growing capabilities, he said the nation must move beyond being a consumer of technology to becoming a global creator.
Chancellor Dr Paul Dhinakaran conferred degrees and praised students for their discipline and values.
He spoke on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence across engineering, healthcare, agriculture and education, and encouraged graduates to continuously upgrade skills in AI and emerging technologies.
Vice President Samuel Paul Dhinakaran congratulated the graduates and urged them to pursue lifelong learning and responsible leadership.
As part of its social commitment, the university presented wheelchairs and battery-operated mobility scooters to persons with disabilities.
Chancellor's Awards for academic excellence were given to Detty Riya Nimsi, Aaron Ando, Georgina, Aishwarya and Mithra.
A highlight was the conferment of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) on R Velusamy for his leadership in automotive innovation and electric mobility.
