Chandel DC launches 'Sampoornata Abhiyan'

Deputy commissioner Mayanglambam Raj Kumar on Thursday launched the 'Sampoornata Abhiyan' for Chandel district, Manipur's only Aspirational District, at Mini Secretariat multipurpose hall in Chandel town.
The launch event was organised by the district administration as part of the nationwide initiative of National Institution for Transforming India Aayog (NITI Aayog) which seeks to achieve saturation in each of the six key performance indicators (KPIs) in the 112 Aspirational Districts and 500 Aspirational Blocks under the Aspirational Districts Programme and Aspirational Blocks Programme.
Speaking at the function, DC Rajkumar informed that the idea of launching Sampoornata Abhiyan is to saturate the six KPIs of the five sectors such as health, nutrition, social welfare, education and agriculture within a span of three months, with effect from Thursday till September 30 through action plan systematically.
He stated that Sampoornata Abhiyan mainly focuses on achievement through systematic services with a mission mode priority on the already six given KPIs of percentage of pregnant women registered for Antenatal Care (ANC) within the first trimester, percentage of pregnant women taking supplementary nutrition under the ICDS programme regularly, percentage of children fully immunised (9-11 months), number of Soil Health Cards distributed, percentage of persons screened for diabetes and hypertension regularly, and percentage of schools with basic facility.
The deputy commissioner appealed to all the district level officers to work sincerely and with dedication so as to achieve the said goals within the three months' time and urged them to come forward for further discussion regarding any challenges they face.
He further directed the Health and ICDS staff of the Chandel district to work in close coordination for proper implementation of pregnant women supplementary nutrition programme and instructed all the district administration officials present at the function to prepare a proper task force for smooth implementation of Sampoornata Abhiyan.
Chandel ADC Md Firoz Khan, Khenjoi SDO Md Gayajudin Khan, Chakpikarong SDO Md Tajudin, Chandel CMO Dr Mathew Joyson Monsang, Chandel DPO/ICDS Prat-ibha Khoiyumthem, Chandel ZEO Yumnam Khemchand, Chandel district agricultural officer Ts Gladney Monsang, Chandel ADP education Hrangbung Starson Anal and Piramal Foundation manager N Chandraku-mar Singh were the dais members of the programme.
Soil Health Cards were also distributed to ten farmers by the DC as part of the launch programme.
Screening for diabetes and hypertension, soil testing, opening of ICDS counter, and Sampoornata pledge led by the DC were other highlights of the event.
