Several organisations have corrie out strongly against the act of terrorism unleashed by Kuki militants on September 1 in Koutruk and Kadangband areas using high-tech drones and rocket propelled projectiles for aerial bombing followed by heavy gun firing, that led to killing of a young woman and injury to nine people including the 12-year old daughter of the victim woman.
In separate releases, Meitei Alliance, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association, Manipur Ima, Langol Lukhoi Thang-Ta Sindam Shang, All Manipur Indigenous Welfare Organisation, Indigenous Development Mission, Lamlai Kendra Village Volunteers' Force, Meetei Community Joint Co-Ordination Committee (MCJCC), Watithou to Haokha & Thoubal Khunou and Mayai Yumpham Khuman Kanglei Apunba Etinpham deplored the fact that 70,000 personnel of central military and paramilitary forces who have been deployed for counter-insurgency are not been able to protect the lives, livelihood and properties of the citizens.
Denouncing the failure to safeguard lives and properties of people, they demanded replacement of the security advisor and the DGP and urged the central government to discharge its fundamental duty of protecting citizens from terrorist groups.
They further questioned why the central government did not take up stringent actions against the armed Kukis who have been repeatedly violating India's constitution and international humanitarian laws.
