Imphal, August 03 2018:
The Thadou Students' Association (TSA) has expressed their concerned over the claimed made by some persons allegedly from UKLF asking TSA to remain silent on July 13 Moreh terror attack, said a statement of TSA.
While appreciating the so-called peace banquet at Moreh on July 23 between the Kuki National Organisation/Kuki National Army (KNO/KNA) and UKLF in the presence of several CSOs of Moreh, TSA clarified that their demand for arrest of the culprits and delivery of justice in the July 13 Moreh attack have nothing to do with any feud or peace between KNA and UKLF, the statement added.
In the statement, it is said that neither Thongminlun nor TSA had any knowledge of the peace banquet or involvement in it.
TSA and its activities have never been for or against any particular militant groups or political parties, but for justice, peace and welfare of the people.
In the statement, TSA urged all armed militant groups and civil organisations not to harass, threaten or try and force us to stop pursuing justice in the July 13 Moreh attack on TSA president, Thongminlun Haokip, and his family.
TSA also urged the government and authorities concerned to stop armed militants from intimidating or harming TSA leaders and the general public, the statement added.
In the statement, TSA cautioned that if any untoward incidents happen to Thongminlun and his family or any other TSA leaders, the government shall be held responsible.
TSA lamented the government's silence and inaction on the delayed arrest of KNO/ KNA cadres involved in the July 13 Moreh attack while questioning whether the government has granted KNO/ KNA the right to immunity from arrest and prosecution after committing such an unprecedented and heinous crime, the statement mentioned.
TSA also demands sound rationale and justification from the authority concerned in delaying the arrest of the culprits, it added.
