Mao Council mourns demise of NMA president

Senapati, August 01 2026: The Mao Council has expressed deep shock and sadness over the sudden demise of Vilanuo Angela Yhome, president of the Naga Mothers Association (NMA), on July 31, 2026 .

In a condolence message issued from its office, the Mao Council described Yhome as a respected leader who dedicated her life to the cause of peace, justice and the welfare of the Naga people.

Her selfless service was irreplaceable and her demise has left a vacuum that can never be filled, the council stated.

The Mao Council conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and relatives and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
