Imphal, November 30 2025: To commemorate the two historic movements waged by women of Manipur against mass exploitation and artificial famine triggered by the British, the Nupi Lan Numit Observation Committee will observe this year's Nupi Lan memorial ceremony on December 12 at Lamyanba Shanglen in Palace Compound, Imphal.

Addressing a press conference today at PPCM office in Wahengbam Leikai, Nupi Lan Numit Observation Committee convenor Pangeijam Sobita said that the key purpose of the observation is to honour the courage of those women who laid down their Eves in the struggle against British rule.

"Nupi Lan memorial observation is an attempt to recollect and honour the strength and courage of these women activists who had relentlessly fought for the freedom of Manipur", said Sobita while seeking public support for the successful conduct of the event.

AMKIL president and Observation Committee advisor Lourembam Nganbi was also present at the conference.
