Jiribam rally denounces inclusion of non Muslim members in Waqf Board

Jiribam, August 31 2026: Meitei-Pangal community in Jiribam organised a mass rally against inclusion of non-Muslim members in the 8th Waqf Board Manipur.

The rally, organised by the Joint Committee Against the Inclusion of Non-Muslim Members In the 8th Waqf Board (JCAINMM-WB), was supported by Meitei-Pangal clubs and women organisations.

The protesters traversed through several Meitei-Pangal inhabited areas including Islamabad, Chingdong Leikai and Dibong Karong.

All Manipur Muslim Organisations Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) Jiribam president took part in the demonstration.

He denounced the inclusion of non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board Manipur and called on the Government remove them in the interests of the Muslim community.
