10-day workshop on Manipuri Performing Arts concludes

Thoubal, December 30 2025: A 10-day workshop on Manipuri Performing Arts, organised by the Chandpur Amuthoi Sangeet Vidyalaya, concluded on Tuesday at the institute's auditorium hall located at Sonai, Chachar in Assam.

The valedictory function of the workshop programme was graced by Sonai Assembly Constituency MLA Karimudin Burboiya as the chief guest; Chandpur Amuthoi Sangeet Vidyalaya president Dr KN Chand as functional president; and retired Additional Secretary, Govt of Assam, Arambam Nanda Babu Singha; and retired Assistant Commissioner, Govt of Assam as guests of honour.

During the workshop, several performing artists from Manipur showcased various traditional art forms including pung cholom, jagoi, khubak eshei and basok.

The workshop also featured presentations of papers focusing on different aspects of Manipuri performing arts, highlighting their cultural significance and scope for preservation and promotion.
