KVK Bishnupur plants 100 tree saplings

Bishnupur, August 29 2024:
A 100-tree saplings were planted in the campus of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bishnupur under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign today.
Notably, the tree plantation initiative was a part of the larger effort wherein the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare set up a "Matri Van" and planted tree saplings in about 1 acre of land at IARI campus in New Delhi today.
Speaking in this connection, Dr Kh Brajamani, Sr Scientist and Head of KVK Bishnupur said that the tree plantation drive was organised as the institute is a subordinate office of IARI, New Delhi.
Additionally, under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, the tree saplings were planted in a bid to combat the global impact of climate change, he added.
The event was attended by Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Home Science N Bandana Devi; SMS Plant Protection Kh Maipak Singh; SMS Agronomy Dr S Sakhen; SMS Soil Science P Bidyananda; Programme Assistant Th Sachimohon Singh and other staff.
