Imphal, March 29 2025: Students for Development (SFD) Manipur conducted a cleanliness drive titled 'Saturday For Campus', collecting over 1,000 single-use plastic bottles in an effort to promote environmental awareness.

The drive was carried out in the vicinity of Manipur University centenary hall with the objective of highlighting the harmful effects of plastic pollution and encouraging responsible waste disposal.

In a statement, SFD informed that its volunteers actively participated in cleaning the area, ensuring that the collected waste was properly segregated and disposed of.

The initiative aimed to instil a sense of responsibility among the public regarding the importance of maintaining clean surroundings and reducing the use of single-use plastics.

The organisation stressed that cleanliness is a collective responsibility, and urged the public to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.

It further encouraged individuals to reduce their dependence on single-use plastics to prevent environmental degradation.

SFD Manipur expressed hope that more people would come forward to support and participate in future drives, contributing to a cleaner and greener campus and ultimately a more sustainable Manipur, the statement added.
