Rotary Club of Imphal installs new BoD, honours achievers

Imphal, June 28 2026:
The Rotary Club of Imphal held its 54th Installation Ceremony of the Board of Directors for Rotary Year 2026-27 on Sunday at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri.
Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, attended as chief guest.
He lauded the club's humanitarian work and urged members to continue community-based service projects and environmental protection.
Dr Nongthombam Muhindro Singh and Dr LK Sharatchandra Singh were installed as president and secretary, respectively, along with the new Board of Directors.
Installation Officer Pramod Chhabra administered the oath.
The theme for the year is 'Create Lasting Impact'.
The annual souvenir "MANIPADMA" was also released by the chief guest.
Several vocational awards were presented during the programme.
The 17th Late Akham Ibochouba Memorial Award for "Meritorious Civil Constable of the Year" went to Moirangthem Robindro Singh.
Michael Nongthombam received the 11th Late Shripal Chand Jain Memorial Award for "Rotary Fireman of the Year", while Ningthoujam Subashchandra Meetei was named "Rotary Traffic Police of the Year".
Other awardees included Laishram Sanatombi (Rotary Nurse), Waikhom Shyam Singh (Rotary Journalist), and Mayengbam Jadumani Singh (Rotary Sportsperson).
The club also awarded the Late Sagolsem Indramani Memorial Rotary Scholarship to Pheiroijam Biraranjan Singh and Chingakham Roshan Singh Children Home, and the 1st Late Thangjam Birchandra and Maipakpi Memorial Scholarship to four students of Government Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat.
Under the Late Sinam Tomchou Singh Memorial initiative, hearing aids were given to four persons.
Wheelchairs were donated to Nongthombam Kanta Mangang of Awang Leikinthabi and Haorongbam Brojen Singh of Haoreibi Mayai Leikai.
Four new members- Dr N Rakesh, Dr Ksh Narayan Singh, Ch Bedajit, and Ranjit Nepram- were inducted into the club.
The Rotary Club of Imphal said it will continue serving the community through service projects to uplift society under its theme 'Create Lasting Impact' .
