Interaction programme conducted

Imphal, June 27 2026:
The Directorate of Environment and Climate Change organised the second Interaction Programme of its 7th Media Fellowship Programme (2026-27) on "Climate Change Reporting in Manipur" at its Main Conference Hall today.
Resource person Prof Debananda S Ningthoujam, retired Professor, Biochemistry Department, Manipur University, spoke on "Earth out of Balance, Consequences and Naturebased Solutions for Climate Change".
He said rising human activities have increased greenhouse gas emissions, causing global warming and major changes in the environment.
He stressed that protecting the deteriorating environment is not the government's responsibility alone and urged collective action, along with naturebased solutions, to cut emissions.
Director Dr T Brajakumar also participated, calling for reduced plastic use and practices that do not harm the environment.
