Chandel, February 27 2026: Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 was formally launched in Chandel district on Thursday at the Multipurpose Hall, Mini Secretariat, with Deputy Commissioner Hemant Kumar inaugurating the programme.

Notably, Chandel is among the 112 Aspirational Districts and 813 Aspirational Blocks identified under the Aspirational Districts Programme and Aspirational Blocks Programme of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), Government of India.

The launch in Chandel was organised by the District Administration Chandel, under the initiative of NITI Aayog.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Hemant Kumar stated that the Sampoorna Abhiyan 2.0 aims to achieve saturation across six key indicators covering health, nutrition, education, agriculture, social development and infrastructure indicators, with clear targets and timelines, ensuring last-mile delivery and leaving no household behind.

The launching programme was also attended by ADC Chandel, Md Firoz Khan; CMO Chandel, Dr Joyson Matthew Monsang; SDOs; BDOs; the Divisional Forest Officer Chandel; and DLOs.
