IIE's annual college week begins

Imphal, February 27 2025: The College Week cum Sports Meet 2025 of Ibotombi Institute of Education (HE), Canchipur, Imphal, was inaugurated today at the Hockey Ground, Manipur University Campus, with a grand parade and march pass by B.Ed and D.El.Ed students.

According to a release issued by IIE, the event was graced by Tokpam Shantikumar Singh, Controller of Examinations, Manipur University, as the chief guest.

Tokpam Shantikumar lit the sacred sports fire alongside the torchbearers and hoisted the College Week flag, officially marking the beginning of the function.

The march past salute was received by the chief guest and Dr RK Bijen, Principal of IIE Canchipur, along with Soraisham Santikumar and Huirem Manglem, retired Associate NCC Officers, who attended the function as guests of honour.

At the event, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of active participation in sports and cultural events, highlighting their role in fostering team spirit, discipline, and overall development.

The inaugural function concluded with the chief guest officially declaring the Sports Meet open by throwing a shot put, setting the stage for an exciting week of competitions.
