Mass vaccination prog, testing drive conducted

Imphal, July 26 2021: Waiton GP COVID-19 2nd Wave Task Force in coordination with Youth Development Association (YDA), Prince Club, Local Development Association and YDA Covid Task Force conducted a mass COVID-19 vaccination programme at Waiton Maning Leikai community hall Monday.

Altogether 250 people were inoculated at the programme, during which Waiton GP pradhan P Surbala also received her second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

On the other hand, Waiton GP COVID-19 2nd Wave Task Force in coordination with Yaipha Lamjing Club, Chingarel Tejpur conducted a mass testing drive at Chingarel Tejpur community hall wherein 43 people tested positive for Covid-19 out of samples of 155 people examined.

COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi also extended help in the successful conduct of the mass testing programme.

In another mass testing drive at Sawombung conducted in coordination with Covid Task Force Sawombung, four out of 80 people tested positive for Covid-19.On the other hand, OS-YCO, Covid 19 Task Force Samurou and CHC Wangoi under the supervision of Imphal West DM conducted a mass vaccination drive at Oinam Sawombung Muslim locality on Monday with the aim to vaccinate every eligible person for containing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

Wangoi ex-MLA Salam Joy extended monetary aid for conducting the mass vaccination drive.
