'3rd Yelhoumi Sing Mikap Thokpa Numit' to be observed at Moirang on May 3

Moirang, April 26 2026: The Ibudhou Thangjing Pana, Moirang sub-division, has announced that it will organised the "3rd Yelhoumi Sing Mikap Thokpa Numit", a commemorative event to honour martyrs who have sacrificed their lives while defending the State amid the ongoing ethnic violence since May 3, 2023 .

According to a release issued by the Ibudhou Thangjing Pana, the programme will be held at Moirang Chengei Lampak on May 3, 2026 (Sunday), starting from 7 am.

The commemorative event will be jointly organised by the Ibudhou Thangjing Pana (ITHP), Moirang; Village Volunteer Force (VVF), Moirang; and Manipur Apunba Chanura Lamjing Lup (MACHALL), Bishnupur.

The organisers stated that the observance is intended to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the course of defending the State following attacks on civilians by Kuki militants since the outbreak of violence in May 3, 2023 .

The observation committee appealed to the general public, civil society organisations (CSOs), clubs, local organisations, Meira Paibi groups, and families of the victims to attend the programme on time, pay tribute to the martyrs, and contribute towards making the event a success.
