Noney Battalion organises plantation drive

Noney, July 25 2022: Noney Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a tree plantation drive at Mongjarong Khunou village in Noney district.

The programme was conducted with an aim to spread awareness about benefits of tree plantation and to add greenery in the area.

As part of initiative, saplings were planted by the villagers and troops of Temporary Operating Base (TOB) Khongsang.

During the event, the troops and villagers were educated about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance.

A total of 25 saplings of various varieties were planted.

The villagers were also enlightened on how tree plantation is helpful in controlling global warming, make the environment pollution free and importance of clear air in today's era where Industrialisation is leading to reduce oxygen level.
