Wildlife Week competitions held to spread conservation awareness

Imphal, September 24 2026: As part of Wildlife Week Celebration 2026, the Central Forest Division, Government of Manipur, organised a series of educational and creative competitions to promote awareness about wildlife conservation, biodiversity protection and the importance of preserving natural habitats among school students.

The Painting and Essay Writing competitions held on September 23 witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 300 students, providing a platform for young minds to express their creativity, ideas and understanding of wildlife conservation and environmental protection.

A Wildlife Quiz Competition was organised today at the Manipur Forest Training Institute, Luwangshangbam, with participation from students representing schools in Imphal East and Imphal West districts.

The participating institutions included Nirmalabas High School, Imphal; Little Flower School, Imphal; Winning Edge Foundation, Pungdongbam; Leishemba Maheikol; Kangla Sangomsang and Sainik School, Imphal.

The competitions were organised with the objective of nurturing environmental awareness among the younger generation and encouraging students to become active participants in the conservation of wildlife and their natural habitats.
