Mega blood donation camp held

Thoubal, April 23 2026: In observance of Khongjom Day, commemorating the martyrs of the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891, the 15 th Mega Blood Donation Camp was organised today at Khongjom.

The initiative was undertaken by the District Administration Thoubal, and organised by the District Health Society, Thoubal, in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS Imphal, Blood Centre, JNIMS Imphal, District Hospital Thoubal, Shija Hospital, Langol, Babina Hospital, Khabeisoi, MACS, and the State Blood Transfusion Council, Manipur.

A large number of civil society members and members of the public who had gathered to attend the Khongjom Day observance participated in the blood donation drive.

Speaking on the occasion, District Health Society, Thoubal, District Mission, Director, and CMO Dr Y Nokul, expressed gratitude to all those who extended cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.

Dr Nokul also encouraged the public to come forward and donate blood without fear, emphasising the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.
