Cataract Detection Camp benefits 21 patients in Thoubal

Thoubal, December 22 2025: A one-day cataract detection and surgery camp was successfully organised by the District Social Welfare Officer, Thoubal, in collaboration with Medilane Foundation, Imphal Eye Clinic and Kakching Eye Hospital at the Teckcham High School Ground on Monday.

The initiative aimed at providing accessible and affordable eye care services to the local community, particularly those in need of cataract treatment and surgical intervention.

During the camp, a total of 60 individuals underwent eye screening, of whom 21 were diagnosed with cataracts.

The camp highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts in promoting public health and improving the quality of life of people in the district.

Further medical interventions and necessary support are expected to be extended to the identified patients in the coming days.
