MAFPPFA convenes GB Meet

Imphal, December 19 2025: The 4th Annual General Body Meeting of Manipur Progressive Pig Farmers' Association (MAPPFA) was held today at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

The meeting was attended by MAPPFA president Ningthoujam Lokendro and senior member Ngairangbam Nilakumar as presidium members.

At the event MAPPFA joint secretary Rustam Ngangom said that the MAPPFA has been tirelessly working to increase local pig production and reduce reliance on external imports by focusing on disease control, farmer education, and advocating for government support and infrastructure.

He asserted that the association has also been actively working to contain and prevent outbreaks like African Swine Fever (ASF) by disinfecting farms and distributing protective supplies like lime & bleaching powder.

"Over the years, awareness & training programmes have also been conducted to educate farmers on disease management and the proper disposal of carcasses to prevent further spread", he added.

Rustam also shared that MAPPFA is making preparations to provide supplements and feeds at subsidized rates to pig farmers (members of MAPPFA) .
