Eastern Students' Club celebrates 76th Foundation Day

Imphal, August 19 2026: The 76th Foundation Day of Eastern Students' Club was celebrated on August 13 at the ESC Multipurpose Hall, Nongmeibung.

Additional Chief Engineer, Command Area Development Department N Munindro Singh attended as chief guest.

Former Chief Engineer, Manipur Tribal Development Corporation Ltd Laishram Brojendra Singh, retired Additional Chief Engineer, PWD A Tomchou Singh, retired HOD (Manipuri), Dhanamanjuri University RK Musuksana Devi, retired Police Inspector Tensubam Ibohal Singh, and Founder & Principal, SI Academy Seram Romananda Singh attended as guests of honour.

ESC president Wahengbam Ishwarchandra Singh presided.

Meritorious students from areas under the club were honoured with cash awards and certificates.

Meanwhile, the 10th Foundation Day of Senior Citizens Society, Kundrakpam, along with Manipur Patriots' Day, was observed on Thursday at YD Community Hall.

The programme was attended by Keithellakpam Ronen Singh, MD, Emoinu Construction Pvt Ltd, as chief guest; Khangenbam Rajendra Singh, president, Senior Citizens Society, Kundrakpam as president; and W Purnima Devi, Gram Panchayat Member, Khundrakpam Gram Panchayat as guest of honour.

As part of the observance, floral tributes were paid to General Thangal, Bir Tikendrajit and Paona Brajabasi.

A two-minute silence was also observed for those who died in the conflict since May 3, 2023 and for departed members of the society.

Six senior citizens were also felicitated.
