Purum Riem Council condemns Tronglaobi bomb attack

Imphal, April 19 2026:
The Purum Riem Council, Manipur has strongly condemned the tragic bomb attack at Tronglaobi that claimed the lives of two innocent children and left their mother injured, terming the incident as inhumane and deeply disturbing.
In a press release, the Council demanded urgent and decisive action from the Government, expressing concern over the lack of progress in apprehending the perpetrators.
While noting that the case has reportedly been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Council criticised the authorities for failing to produce those responsible so far, calling it "shameful" and reflective of administrative inaction.
Expressing anguish over the loss of young lives, the Council criticised the absence of any statement or condolence message from the President, Prime Minister, or Union Home Minister, stating that such silences raises concerns about the treatment of indigenous communities as equal citizens of the nation.
Reaffirming its commitment, the Purum Riem Council stated that it would continue to stand with the people in any movement for justice, human rights, and truth.
