Source: Chronicle News Service

Senapati, January 19 2025: A solemn condolence service was organised by the apex civil society or ganisations of the district, including the Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA), and Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA), at Traffic Point, Senapati.

The sendee was held as the mortal remains of the late MLA were brought from Imphal on Sunday afternoon.

Senapati denizens dressed in black gathered to mourn the untimely demise of the legislator, who passed away on Saturday at his Imphal residence.

The atmosphere at Senapati's main bazar was filled with poignant emotions as the district received the mortal remains.

Representatives from the district's apex CSOs and their federating units laid wreaths to honour the late MLA and offered their condolences.

A Neli, president Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC), expressed deep sorrow, stating that the district and the state are united in grief at the untimely loss of a quiet yet empathetic leader.

He highlighted the late MLA's significant contributions, recalling his wisdom, strength, and unwavering support for the people, which will remain unforgettable.

Offering condolences to the bereaved family, Neli prayed for the departed leader's soul to rest in eternal peace.

Saloni Tony, president SDSA, conveyed the student body's profound grief over the passing of the MLA.

He described the leader as a person of vast experience in politics, business, and life skills, and noted his uncompromising integrity and quiet, action-oriented approach.

Tony recalled the late MLA's invaluable role in uplifting and guiding the district's youth, particularly students, in navigating the challenges of modern life.

His humility and honesty fostered an environment where young people could learn from his wisdom, making his death an irreparable loss to the student community and the district as a whole, he added.

RN Hannah, president SDWA, credited the late MLA for providing steadfast support to the women's organisation, enabling it to reach its current stature.

She expressed the difficulty of finding words to adequately convey the grief and pain caused by the leader's passing.

Hannah affirmed the SDWA's solidarity with the bereaved family and offered prayers for comfort and peace.

NPO president Kuba Peter, who also spoke during the solemn programme, remembered the MLA as a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly for the district's development.

He noted that the NPO executives had planned to visit the ailing leader but deferred their visit after hearing reports of his recovery.

Extending condolences, he offered prayers for the family and for the leader's eternal rest.

A special prayer was led by Rev K Daniel, president Senapati Karong Area Baptist Union, during the latter part of the programme.

Following the service, the mortal remains of the late MLA were transported to his native village, Makhan Khuman, where the final funeral rites are scheduled for Monday.

As a mark of respect for the departed leader, the Government of Manipur has declared a half-holiday on Monday.

Meanwhile, different organisations expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of Tadubi MLA N Kayisii.

The organisations include Bharatiya Janata Party, Senapati district; Mao Students'- Union (MSU); Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang (Maram Students' Union); Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (Poumai Naga Students' Union); Thangal Anleinao Jonlong (TAJ); Zeliangrong .Students' Union, Senapati Zone; Zeme Students' Organisation, Manipur (ZSOM); Taphou Area' Youth and Students' Organisation (TAYSO); and Senapati District Truck Owners' Association (SDTOA).

In their condolence messages the organisations remembered Kayisii, also a former minister, as cordial and down to earth individual with unwavering commitment to serve the society.

Kayisii's immense contributions towards the state's development will be deeply missed and his remarkable legacy will continue to inspire and guide the people.

The MLA was a humble, compassionate and dedicated public servant who devoted his life, advocating for the rights of the underserved, guided by the principles of truth and honesty.

The late leader stood firm in his efforts to uplift women and the marginalised sections of the society.

His demise will be a huge loss for the society and the entire state, they said.

The organisations also stated that his strength and resilience during his prolonged illness were a testament to his character, how he faced each day with dignity and grace.

It is a reminder to all about importance of compassion, determination, and the impact one individual can have on the lives of many, they mentioned.

The organisations also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
