Regarding rumours of the state facing shortage of petrol and diesel, he clarified that there is sufficient stock at the Malom oil depot.
"There are three types of petrol namely XP-95, E-12 and E-20 and two of diesel namely normal and green.
Since E-20 is pollution free, most petrol pumps in Imphal have switched from E-12 to E-20 with few exceptions.
Since there is no storage tank for E-20 at the Malom oil depot, all E-20 stocks had been directly transported to the retail outlet pumps.
But, due to shortage of supply of E-20 owing to the ongoing conflict in the state, most outlets are reporting low or exhaustion of the petrol variety, he elaborated while stressing the need for E-20 pumps to convert to E-12 storage tanks to avoid technical issues.
Owing to the transformation exercise some of the pumps have suspended operation despite abundance of petrol," Mohendro informed.
He also conveyed that absence service engineer in the Imphal Divisional Office is hindering the transformation process.
