State sees spike in new Covid cases

Imphal, June 17 2025:
With 14 new Covid-19 positive cases reported in the state on Tuesday, the total number of active cases has risen to 33.The current positivity rate stands at 32.6 percent.
The new cases were detected in Imphal West (8), Imphal East (3), and Bishnupur (3) .
A total of 43 blood samples were tested in the past 24 hours, out of which 14 returned positive.
Of the 33 active cases, 30 are under home isolation and condition of three monitored at hospitals.
As per the guidelines, a Covid-19 patient must remain in isolation for seven days after testing positive.
If there is no fever for three consecutive days during this period, the home isolation is considered complete.
However, they must continue wearing mask after isolation.
Re-testing after the seven-day isolation period is not required.
According to the Covid-19 advisory issued on Tuesday, the public have been advised to follow the previously issued guidelines, adhere to the recommended dos and don'ts, and remain vigilant.
People are also advised not to believe or circulate unverified information.
Only official updates issued from time to time should be followed.
The advisory also stated that all necessary precautionary measures to tackle Covid-19 have been put in place, including the conduct of mock drills in district hospitals.
Adequate arrangements have been made for inpatient management in the event of any Covid-19 case.

In the past 24 hours, 428 new positive cases have been reported across the country, with one death and 1,168 recoveries.
Since January 1, 2025, a total of 14,772 people have recovered, while 10.9 lost their lives in India.
