Assam Rifles conducts comprehensive medical outreach at Oinam under Operation Sadbhavna

Imphal, October 16 2025: In a significant gesture of humanitarian outreach and civil-military cooperation, a free Medical Camp was organised on October 16, 2025 at Oinam village in Bishnupur District, Manipur, under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavna.

According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the initiative, led by Assam Rifles, aimed to bolster public health awareness and provide essential medical services to underserved communities in the region.

Held with the active support of local stakeholders, the camp drew an overwhelming response from the populace, benefitting over 500 individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Among the attendees were more than 60 Internally Displaced Persons from Thambal Marik College Relief Camp, over 200 students and parents from Senkon Navodaya Coaching Centre, 200 villagers from Oinam, 50 residents from Irengbam, Keinou and Oinam Kabui villages and 20 students from Malemgi Maheikol Coaching Centre.

The medical services extended included expert consultations, diagnostics, treatment and distribution of free medicines.

The event was graced by the presence of several eminent dignitaries whose participation underscored the spirit of collaboration and community solidarity.

Notable attendees included N Sanahal Devi, Chairperson of Oinam Municipal Council; Ch Ashangbi Devi, Advisor to the Oinam Meira Paibi Association; Dr Th Swarankumar Singh, retired NCC officer and social activist; O Ibomcha Singh, retired Head Clerk of Thambal Marik College; W Rajeshwor Singh, social worker; O Ibetombi Chanu, Ward Councillor; and I Yugeshwor Singh, retired Principal of Royal Academy of Law, Oinam.

A total of eight medical professionals rendered their services during the camp.

This included four personnel from Assam Rifles, among them a Gynaecologist, and four civilian doctors - Dr Hemam Rasheswori Devi from the CMO Pool, Bishnupur; Dr Laishram Priyanka Devi from Primary Healthcare Oinam; and Dr Arvind Thingon and Dr Bharati from CHC Nambol.

Their collective expertise ensured that the medical needs of the attendees were met with diligence and care.

Beyond clinical services, the camp also served as a platform for sensitising the community on hygiene, nutrition and preventive healthcare practices.

The initiative was met with heartfelt appreciation from the local residents, who expressed gratitude for the continued support and compassion shown by Assam Rifles.
