YAC celebrates 80th Foundation Day

Imphal, August 16 2026: Yaiskul Athletic Club celebrated its 80th Foundation Day at the Manipur Dramatic Union hall, Yaiskul on Sunday.

Retired Deputy Commandant RK Bijoy attended as chief guest.

Veteran international footballer Gangmei Basanta Kabui attended as guest of honour.

Club president Sorokhaibam Saratchandra presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, RK Bijoy expressed hope that Manipur would continue to live together in peace, harmony and brotherhood.

He said that in the last 80 years, the club has produced many talented sportspersons from the locality who have brought laurels to the State.

Even today, the club continues to nurture players and bring pride to the region.

The club has also produced many good students, teachers and intellectuals from the area, he added.

He further appealed to the younger generation to take inspiration from the elders of the locality, who have been working selflessly on various issues of the State and contributing to the welfare of society, and to carry forward the same spirit in the days ahead.
