Kangpokpi/Tengnoupal, June 16 2026:
In a concerted effort to foster stability, trust and holistic wellness across Manipur, the Assam Rifles conducted a series of outreach and health initiatives in Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal districts.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), Assam Rifles personnel interacted with village elders, residents and youth representatives, reaffirming their commitment to protecting local lives and regional stability.
During the interactions, villagers were urged to remain vigilant against destabilising rumours and misinformation and were encouraged to rely strictly on verified channels and security authorities for clarifications.
The outreach programme provided a platform for local residents to raise grievances and concerns, helping strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between security forces and the public while reinforcing the collective commitment to peace.
Simultaneously, bridging security with well-being, the Assam Rifles organised mass yoga sessions at Moreh and Kwatha in Tengnoupal district, marking the lead-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga.
Promoting a culture of preventive healthcare and mental resilience, the wellness drives witnessed a massive response.
A total of 622 troops and family members, alongside 151 children and 120 local villagers, actively performed various asanas and breathing exercises under guided supervision.
The interactive sessions also raised awareness about stress management and emotional balance.
Collectively, these initiatives highlighted the dual focus of the Assam Rifles on ensuring robust regional security while actively nurturing the physical, mental and social harmony of the local population in Manipur.
