DM Thoubal issues prohibitory order

Thoubal, February 16 2026:
The Office of the District Magistrate, Thoubal district, has issued a prohibitory order restricting the assembly of five and more persons and the carrying of weapons such as sticks, stone, firearms, etc, within the periphery of 100 metre radius of all examination centres across the district The order was issued under Sub-Section 2 of Section 163 of BNSS, 2023, in view of the ongoing Class XI Examination, 2026 and the Higher Secondary (Class XII) Examination, 2026, scheduled to be held from February 17 to April 4, 2026 .
However, the restrictions will not apply to government officials and agencies engaged in examination duties or to individuals holding special permits issued by the District Magistrate, Thoubal and the Superintendent of Police, Thoubal.
The prohibitory order will remain in force from 10 am to 1 pm of February 17 to March 3, 2026 for Class XII examinations.
For the Class XI examinations, it will be effective from 1 pm to 4 pm from February 16 to April 4, 2026 .
