MU observes World Youth Skills Day

The Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development, Manipur University observed World Youth Skills Day 2026 on Tuesday at the Training Hall, New Social Science Block under the theme "Skills for a Shared Future".
The programme, attended by faculty, students and industry representatives, began with a welcome address by Dr Kangjam Mukhara Devi, Faculty, DVSSD, highlighting the significance of the day.
Keynote speaker Haobam Joyremba, Director, CubeTen Technologies Pvt Ltd, spoke on Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the future workforce.
He stressed continuous learning, unlearning and relearning, and urged students to develop curiosity, adaptability and interest in emerging technologies.
Prof A Rajmani Singha, Director, IQAC, Manipur University, emphasised the "3 Cs" - Creativity, Communication and Collaboration - as essential 21st century skills, and called for greater focus on life skills and self-awareness.
Chief guest Prof Memcha Loitongbam, Dean, School of Social Sciences, underlined the need to bridge classroom learning with industry exposure to enhance employability and self-reliance.
In his presidential address, Dr Nambram Amulkumar, Head, DVSSD, highlighted initiatives to promote entrepreneurship and turn youth into job creators.
Later, the Department held a Faculty Enrichment Programme on "Teaching, Learning and Assessment Process" for 30 faculty members.
