HIV/AIDS awareness programme held at Machi block

Tengnoupal, May 14 2026: Kanwar Nupuinu Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd (KANMUCOS Ltd CLF), organised a one-day awareness programme on HIV/AIDS on Thursday at Machi Block in Tengnoupal district in collaboration with the Manipur State AIDS Control Society.

As per a release issued by KANMUCOS Ltd, the initiative aimed to spread awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention, healthcare, stigma reduction, and the importance of early testing and treatment.

The programme witnessed participation of around 130 Self Help Group (SHG) members from different villages under KANMUCOS Ltd CLF.

Dr B Cingdeihnieng, DIO and Chandel DACO in-charge, attended the programme as the resource person and delivered an informative session on HIV/AIDS awareness, preventive measures, and the importance of maintaining proper health and hygiene in the community.

A short address was also delivered by M Meithra Tarao, DMM of MSRLM, TPL, who encouraged SHG members to actively participate in awareness activities and work collectively towards building a healthier and more informed society.

As part of the programme, HIV testing and counselling services were also conducted for participants by Jairha, Lab Technician, MICTC, and Virginia Wanglar, Counsellor, MICTC .
