Court nods to interrogation

Imphal, November 13 2025:
The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West has accepted an application filed by the NIA for interrogation of Rajkumar Sidharth inside Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa in connection with a case of looting arms from 5th IRB located at Chingarel Tejpur, Imphal East under Lamlai police station on February 13, 2024 night.
The petition was filed before the Court by the Chief Investigating Officer of NIA Imphal branch along with a prayer for interrogation of Rajkumar Sidharth (33) s/o Kewalchand of Sagolband Bijoy Govinda in connection with a case of looting arms and ammunition from 5th Indian Reserve Battalion.
The Court, after hearing the submission of Special PP, NIA and on perusal of the petition, gave permission for interrogation of the accused who is presently lodged in Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa.
On February 13, 2024 night, a mob stormed the 5th IRB located at Chingarel Tejpur and looted around 300 weapons and ammunition from the battalion headquarters.
In compliance with an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs, NIA re-registered a case from Lamlai police station and carried out an investigation of the arms looting case.
