Thoubal, November 13 2024: A wild owl that ventured into the residential area of Wangjing Heituppokpi in Thoubal district was safely released at Ikop Pat today.

Notably, the owl was handed over to Naorem Omesh, member, Joint Coordination Committee on Wildlife & Biodiversity (JCCWB) Manipur by residents and they facilitated the safe release of the bird.

Speaking in this connection, Elangbam Premchand, organization secretary, Nature Vanguard Force (mobile team of JCCWB) said that they have launched many campaigns with the message of safeguarding wildlife and the environment.

On another note, he pointed out that the ongoing conflict in the State has not only affected human lives but wildlife as well with the possibility of many animals/ birds fleeing into human inhabited areas.

In such cases, he appealed people to contact nearby Forest Office or inform JCCWB helpline.
