Central Forest Division, CRPF organise massive plantation drive

The Central Forest Division, in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), successfully organised a large-scale plantation drive during the Van Mahotsav celebrations at Lamlai.
The event, held under the able leadership of N Ganesh, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the Central Forest Division, saw the planting of 5,000 seedlings, marking a significant contribution to the State's afforestation efforts.
The plantation drive was attended by the Deputy Commandant of CRPF 69th and 86th Battalions, along with 250 CRPF personnel, who actively participated in the event.
Adding to the event's enthusiasm, 250 school students also took part, showcasing the importance of involving the younger generation in environmental conservation.
According to a release issued by DFO/ Central Forest Division, the event was a unique confluence of the "Maa Ke Naam Ek Ped" and "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaigns, culminating in the powerful theme "Bharat Maa Ke Naam Pe Ek Ped," which translates to "Plant in the Name of Motherland" .
This initiative aimed to instill a sense of national pride and responsibility towards environmental stewardship among the participants.
At the event, N Ganesh highlighted the importance of such collaborative efforts in combating climate change and ensuring a greener future for Manipur.
He expressed his appreciation for the active participation of the CRPF and school students, emphasizing that such initiatives are crucial in raising awareness about the need for environmental conservation.
The Deputy Commandant of CRPF 69th and 86th Battalions commended the plantation drive and reiterated the CRPF's commitment to social responsibility beyond their primary duties.
He also encouraged the participants to continue contributing to environmental conservation as a tribute to the Nation.
The involvement of 250 school students in the event was particularly noteworthy, as it not only educated them about the importance of planting trees but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards the environment at a young age.
