JMC concludes World Environment Day with cleanliness, plantation drives

Jiribam, June 12 2026: The Jiribam Municipal Council (JMC) concluded its week-long observance of World Environment Day 2026 today with a cleanliness drive at Jiri Ima Keithel and a plantation programme under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign.

The week-long observance, which began on June 5, featured a series of environmental initiatives aimed at promoting cleanliness, waste management and environmental awareness among the public.

Activities included cleanliness drives in different parts of the town and door-to-door awareness campaigns on four-way waste segregation.

The concluding programme witnessed the participation of Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam Arvind Hanglem, JMC Caretaker Chairperson S Shanti Devi, Executive Officer Moirangthem Surjit Singh, Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner Elangbam Amuthoi, Sub-Divisional Officer (Borobekra) Abujam Romen and councillors from various wards.
