Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra held at Longmai

Noney, August 11 2026: MLA of 54-Nungba Assembly Constituency and Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee (HAC), Dinganglung Gangmei, on Tuesday flagged off a 'Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra' at Longmai, Noney district headquarters, as part of the commemoration of the 80th Independence Day.

Organised by the BJP Nungba Mandal, the rally witnessed the participation of thousands of people, including district officials and staff, BJP leaders and workers, Mahila leaders of Nungba Mandal, students and teachers from nearby schools and the general public of Longmai and adjoining areas.

The rally commenced from Longmai Common Ground and proceeded through Longmai Bazar along NH-37, Lukhambi Market Complex and the junction near the world's tallest railway bridge before culminating at Longmai Bazar Shed.

Participants carried the national Tricolour and raised patriotic slogans, including "We Love India", "Long Live India", "Our Tricolour, Our Pride", "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Har Ghar Tiranga", reflecting the spirit of patriotism and national unity.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dipu Gangmei said that Noney district had remained comparatively peaceful despite the communal conflict in Manipur.

He observed that although several lifelines of the State had faced disruptions, the Imphal-Jiribam NH-37 had largely remained accessible, with major interruptions mainly caused by natural calamities such as landslides and road sinking.

Dipu Gangmei also expressed serious concern over the pending justice in connection with the six Zeliangrong civilians and assured the Zeliangrong-Inpui community that efforts would be made to pursue the matter.

He appealed to the concerned authorities and law-enforcement agencies to take necessary steps to ensure that justice was delivered at the earliest.

He further appealed to all communities to shun every form of violence and work towards mutual understanding, peacefill dialogue and an amicable resolution to the prevailing issues.

Stressing that violence could never bring a lasting solution and would only delay development, he urged all communities to embrace peace and reconciliation for foe progress and development of Manipur.
