Thoubal, August 11 2024: Thoubal district Deputy Commissioner, Ahanthem Subhash visited Khangabok Sanilou Leikai, a locality that has been affected by man-made flood due to expansion of Asian Highway.

Drainage systems that existed were inundated during the Asian Highway expansion work, carried out by the Green Infra Project Ltd under the NHIDCL.

This led to the locality facing flash floods during downpour.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner assured the locals of a remedy soon.

He said a proposal for constructing a drainage system would be made under the MI scheme or another appropriate scheme.

Khangabok Administrative Committee Zilla Parishad Member, Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee Chairperson, and members of the local club accompanied the DC during the inspection.
