DIPR observes Drivers' Day to honour Government drivers

Imphal, June 11 2026:
The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur, observed Drivers' Day 2026 today at the DIPR Auditorium, Imphal, recognising the vital role of Government drivers.
DIPR Director Dr Th Charanjeet Singh, who attended as chief guest, said drivers are essential personnel ensuring safe transportation and smooth functioning of Government offices.
He noted that many official duties could not be carried out efficiently without their dedication and professionalism, adding that their behind-the-scenes service is indispensable to departmental success.

Additional Directors Waikhom Phajatombi Devi and Tongbram Ramesh were presidium members.
Ramesh recalled that Drivers' Day marks the founding of the All India Government Drivers Federation on June 11, 1994, and praised DIPR drivers for their punctuality and commitment.
Officers, staff, and drivers of the Directorate attended the observance.
