L Shashibhushan announces candidacy from Uripok AC

Imphal, July 10 2026:
Senior Advocate of the High Court of Manipur, Laishram Shashibhushan, son of late former Minister L Nandakumar, today announced that he will contest the upcoming 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Uripok Assembly Constituency.
Speaking at a public meeting held at his Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak residence attended by people from various polling stations of Uripok AC, the 5 7-year-old advocate said he is entering politics to restore peace, uphold the rule of law, and serve the people amid the current crisis in the State.
Shashibhushan, an alumnus of Subroto Park Air Force School, New Delhi; University of Mumbai; and Government Law College, Mumbai, said his decision is driven by public welfare, not personal interest.
He pledged to work for a developed Uripok with accountability and transparency in the use of Central and State funds.
He also vowed to continue his late father's developmental works in the constituency.
Local leader Wakambam Sarat urged people to support Shashibhushan for the progress of Uripok and Manipur.
