Thoubal, October 09 2025: Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex Relief Camp and Lamding Higher Secondary Relief Camp have suspended their agitation after reaching an understanding with Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal.

The IDPs of the two relief camps had staged a sit-in protest on October 6 in front of Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex demanding payment of daily allowance instead of rations and set a deadline of three days to meet their demand.

The agreement was reached during a meeting held between representatives of Meetei Council Moreh (MCM), Committee on Protection of Meetei Victims (COPMeV), Moreh, IDPs of Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex and Lamding Higher Secondary Relief Camp and DC Thoubal on October 8 .

A joint statement issued by Ashem Antiboy Singh, convenor, Lamding Higher Secondary Relief Camp and Sorokhaibam Santipur Singh, secretary, Kodompokpi Sports Complex Relief Camp has thanked both MCM and COPMeV for their assistance in the matter and further expressed hope that DC, Thoubal will act on the assurances given to the IDPs .
