Students' wing threatens to step up ILP stir

The students' wing of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has warned of intensify the movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit in Manipur.
While strongly condemning the act of Additional superintendent of police Yengkhom Victoria (Traffic, Imphal West) over the arrest of seven members of the students' wing including its convener and co-conveners after raiding the JCILPS office located at Nongmeibung yesterday, the students' wing of the committee today said they will concertedly carry out protest.
Speaking to media persons at All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) office located at D.M Colloge campus here, S.Subachandra, another co convener of the students' wing narrated how the students were arrested by the Additional SP and her team on baseless ground.
Subachandra said that SP Victoria's act of ransacking the committee's office and arresting the students' wing representatives was unjustifiable.
He further informed that the students' wing will not step back but continue with their protests for the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state.
Urging the government to initiate the immediate release of the students, the committee has also warned to take up various forms of stringent agitations if the government fails to fulfill their plea.
