Imphal, August 09 2026: A 10-day Thang-Ta Workshop organised by Lichat Inat Kanba Lupki Apunba Maheisang (LIKLAM), Kongpal, concluded on Sunday.

The workshop was held from July 31 to August 9 at the organisation's premises under the Chief Ministergi Artist Singgi Tengbang (CMAT) scheme of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur.

The closing function was attended by Thiyam Kora Singh, sintakpa of Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta & Cultural Association as chief guest, Thingbaijam Ibohanbi Meetei, sintakpa of LIKLAM as president, and N Ibohal Singh, sintakpa of Meetei Inat Sindam Apunba (MISA), Heingang and N Jiban Singh, sintakpa of Eastern Thang-Ta Organisation, Tangkham as guests of honour.

Organised with the aim of promoting Thang-Ta, the unique martial art form of Manipur, resource persons from different Thang-Ta organisations shared their views on the origin of 'Thanglon' and 'Taron' and imparted training on Thang leiteng, Ta-khousaba, khutlon, khonglon and phidup to the students.
