FESOK condemns shooting of minor girl

Imphal, June 09 2026: The Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has strongly condemned the shooting of an 11 -year-old girl by unidentified persons at Kshetri Bengoon Mamang Ching under Porompat Police Station on thenightof June 8.According to a press release issued by FESOK, the incident occurred around 10:30 pm when unknown assailants travelling in a vehicle fired at a house, leaving Sahida alias Athoi, 11, daughter of Md Emtiyaz, critically injured with two bullet wounds to the buttock.

FESOK termed the attack "inhuman and barbaric", stating such violent acts threaten public safety and peace.

The organisation said it "cannot remain silent" when innocent children are targeted and demanded immediate action to arrest the culprits.

FESOK also urged authorities to ensure protection of civilians, adding that such terrorising incidents spread fear among the people.
